Abstract

In Indian philosophy the word 'philosophy' means the realization of truth. The sects formed in Indian philosophy, focusing on the evidence of the Vedas, have discussed various theories with the aim of realizing the truth. One of these theories is theism. In religious India, God is believed to the creator of the world there is various information in the Vedas, Upanishads, etc. regarding the nature of God. The philosophical schools that emerged from the Vedas also present different perspectives on the nature and existence of God. Theism has been proven in the Samkhya and Yoga philosophies within theistic philosophy. The nature of God has not been explained in the samkhya philosophy. But as an equivalent philosophy, the Yoga philosophy has recognised God. Therefore, although Samkhya and Yoga are mutually equivalent philosophies, there seems to be an apparent conflict between the two regarding theism. The purpose of this article is to reveal the concepts of God in both philosophies based on the logic of the conflict between Samkhya and Yoga philosophies regarding the theory of God.
