During the disease procedure, both innate and adaptive immune responses involve that trigger inflammation. Osteopontin (OPN) is an extracellular glycosylated phosphoprotein which increases in inflammation status such as periodontitis. Correlation of the OPN expression and severity of periodontal tissue infection does not investigated yet. Therefore this study assessed OPN expression level in chronic and acute periodontitis to introducing a new correlation between them. For this purpose, gingival tissue samples were collected from 20 patients with chronic periodontitis and 10 persons without obvious sign of periodontitis. Total RNA related to each tissue sample was extracted after homogenizing. The expression of OPNgen (amount of corresponding mRAN) was evaluated by real-time PCR method. Expression of the OPNgene decreased in both types of examined periodontitis and reduced more significantly in acute cases (P<0.05). Statistical analysis revealed presence of significant correlation between negative fold change of gene expression and severity of infectious in periodontal tissue (P<0.05). Results suggest OPN has a possible important role in protection against periodontopathic bacteria and bone lesion, but disease progression accompanied by reduced expression may be due toOPN producer cell death.<#LINE#>Lerner U.H. There is strong association between hyperandrogenism with chronic anovulation in women causing infertility. About 5-10 per cent of women are affected worldwide. It is characterized by irregular or no menstrual periods, acne, obesity, and excess hair growth. The development of obesity amplifies PCOS in women. The study was conducted at three colleges of Bangalore city. A questionnaire was developed and validated to assess the knowledge towards PCOS. The subjects aged between 18 to 25 years were screened by taking height, weight and through BMI by random sampling. 100 overweight and obese samples were taken for the study. The subjects knowledge responses were collected. There were 37 percent overweight and 15 percent obese subjects in the age group of 21-22 years, 11 percent of overweight and 14 percent of obese subjects in the age group of 23-24 years and 10 percent of overweight and 13 percent of obese subjects in the age group of 18-20 years. More than half (56%) of the respondents age of menarche was at the age of 12 to 13 years where as 36 per cent and 8 per cent of the respondents attained their menarche at the age of 14 to 15 and 10 to 12 years respectively. 36 per cent of the subjects had irregular menstrual cycle. Majority of the samples did not have an adequate knowledge about PCOS. It is very important that all young females especially who are overweight and obese should know about the causes, risk factors, complications, diagnosis and management of the disease so that unrecognized and neglected symptoms can be introspected by the individual samples in order to prevent the degree and complications of PCOS. Nearly 79 percent of respondents of both over weight and obese young females had inadequate knowledge on PCOS whereas 21 percent of the subjects had inadequate knowledge. The results showed significant difference at 5 percent level. An adoption of active lifestyle habits, healthy dietary habits and regular physical activities help in prevention and management of PCOS among adults.<#LINE#>Thathapudi S., Kodati V., Erukkambattu J., Katragadda A., Addepally U. and Hasan Q. Producers or the farmers are interested in using label when consumer willingness to pay is higher. This fenomena is interested to study what push factors of producers mango in using label as part of customer service marketing. The research method is survey with 260 farmers using simple random sampling from 4 sub district in Cirebon such as Astanajapura, Greged, Dukupuntang and Sedong. The results of this study revealed that push factors are income, access of market, concern of quality and safety food. The farmers who get higher income, better access market, concern of quality and safety food tend to used label. The farmers believe that label is one way for better customers servive but they only used label when willlingnes to pay consumers is higher. Another factor that is not a motivating factor are family member, mango is cultivated for second priority, number of trees, and the label is not an issue when done by wholesaler or exportir. There must be the government agency to ensures that label is the quality assurance and product safe for consumption.<#LINE#>Dittmar M. Now-a-days, silica supported acid catalysts have gained much importance due to their high activity. Moreover, silica-supported reagents are easy to handle, less toxic, can be easily separated and reused, due to which they may play important role both in academia and industries. Silicas generally require no pre-swelling, which makes their use far simpler. As oxidative bromination of alkenes is very important in synthesizing biologically and synthetically important dibromocompounds, a simple, efficient and cost effective method has been used for the bromination of alkenes by using SiO2 -H2SO as solid heterogeneous catalyst.<#LINE#>Buu-Hoï N.P. and Lavit D.
