LiCa4(BO3)3dopedGd3+phosphor was successfully and intentionally synthesized by the modified conventional solidstate diffusion(SSD) method. The phase purity of sample was characterizedby powder X-ray diffraction(XRD).The photoluminescence (PL) property was studie dusinga HitachiF-7000 spectro photometeratroom temperature. The sample LiCa4(BO3)3:Gd3+showintensenarrow UVBe missiono fGd3+at 314nm(corresponds to 6PJ8S7/2)under the excitation of 275nm.The emissionspectrum of the phosphorisobservedin the UV regionandhence the phosphorcanbe potential candidate formedical applications.
