New synthesized materials exhibit promising applications as photocatalysts for ecological rehab and better usage of non-conventional energy source i.e. Sun. Semiconductor-based photocatalysts have been massively utilized for the overall elimination or fading of organic pollutants from wastewater in the presence of solar light irradiation. The heterojunction photocatalyst was synthesized by decorating S, N-CQDs onto the surface of ZnCo2O4 nanomaterials. The structural and morphological features of the developed material were analysed using powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and energy–dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) analyses. It was found that the morphology of the prepared sample was spherical in shape. The EDX-Spectrum of the nanocomposite revealed the existence of Zn, Co and O elements. The photocatalytic activity of the prepared catalyst was evaluated for the degradation calmagite dye an organic dye was found to be 85% after 90 min of solar light irradiation.
