	<Abstract>Education is essential to create both new needs and the capacity to satisfy them. Monastery, Gurukula and teachers’ house were the traditional Hindu residential schools of learning. They were imparting education freely and very often limited to the higher castes in the subjects like, Religion, Philosophy, Warfare, Medicine, Astrology, Literature, Statecraft, Scripture, and history. So, considering the importance of the education and gradual developments by the efforts of the educational lovers in India and particular to Odisha, this article aims to elaborate some of the important instances for the benefit of the all sects of people for the need of the hours.</Abstract>
