	<Abstract>The examination of fire-damaged documents is a significant aspect of forensic science, especially in cases where important records are intentionally destroyed. This study focuses on a comparative analysis of charred documents prepared from 20 different types of paper commonly used in daily, commercial, and official purposes. Each paper sample was exposed to controlled burning conditions to observe differences in their physical and structural responses to heat. The research evaluates variations in charring behavior, degree of damage, and the extent to which written or printed information can still be recovered after burning. Techniques such as careful visual inspection, use of angled lighting, and photographic enhancement were applied to assess the readability of the remaining content. Differences in paper composition, thickness, and surface treatment were found to play a major role in determining how well a document withstands heat and retains information. The study highlights that not all paper types respond similarly to fire, and some allow better recovery of information than others. These findings may assist forensic examiners in choosing suitable methods for handling and analyzing charred documents, thereby improving the chances of retrieving useful evidence in fire-related investigations.</Abstract>
